The baby uniquely reacts to a source of bright light with very violent movements, distinguishes the taste and smell of amniotic fluid, perceives signals-sensations from the skin. The baby reacts to the mother’s emotions, changing its motor activity depending on the situation.

The movements on this period are felt in the lower abdomen, below the navel.

Condition of a mom

Weight gain at week 24 is 5.5-6 kg. The uterus reaches the level of the navel, and the future mother’s tummy becomes noticeable to others. During this period, stretch marks and age spots may appear on the skin of the abdomen. The navel is gradually smoothed and comes forward. After giving birth, the navel will return to its usual state.

The woman’s well-being remains quite good. At this time, the expectant mother still notes a surge of strength, vigor and good mood. Such a state is not destined to last long. In the third trimester, the nervous system will once again enter the phase of inhibition, and it will be more and more difficult to lead the former way of life every week.

The discharge at the end of the second trimester remains abundant or moderate, always thick and viscous. The color of vaginal discharge can be clear or milky. The presence of foreign smell, itching or any discomfort in the vagina is not allowed. Symptoms of this type suggest an infection and can lead to serious complications during pregnancy.
